This is our 3rd year going to our favorite local farm, Brookdale Farms. It has a special meaning to us, so part of our tradition each year is to take Brody :). We love this farm for both fall and when strawberry picking comes around. Brookdale is awesome because you can cut your pumpkins straight from the vine, and pick pumpkins right out of the farm where it was originally grown versus picking a pumpkin that is sold somewhere like a grocery store; just a great part of the experience. Another perk is the horse-drawn hayrides! They have two awesome horses that give one fun hayride, but when we went this past weekend one hose had an infection so no hayrides while we were there. We are definitely going back so we can get on the hayride though.
This farm also has an awesome little play area for the kids {free!} which includes a climbable haystack, haystack checkers, a huge tire to play with, and more. They also were selling kid crafts {which we took home and did} along with farm-made salsa's, etc. Brookdale also has an awesome shell your own popcorn area! They sell the popcorn seeds by can
Here are some pictures from our experience this year! I took so many pictures, but I don't want to bore y'all with posting all of them. Overall Brody really enjoyed the pumpkin patch, I cannot wait to take him back for the hayride. Also can't wait to go back next year {can't even imagine that he'll be over 2 years old at that time!!}. We have many more years to come of taking him to our special pumpkin patch. We ended up taking four pumpkins home, we will carve them when it gets closer to Halloween so that they don't rot. If you're a local -- I highly recommend checking out this farm. It is also right next to Bergey's Breadbasket which I recently wrote about our experience here. Pumpkin patches are probably one of my favorite things about Fall!
